NXT Eco · Training & Tourism Academy

The eco-training engine African hospitality has been waiting for.

Every wine farm, hotel, lodge, restaurant and conservancy in Africa needs the same people. NXT Eco trains them — guides, sommeliers, hospitality front-line and conservation operators — on one campus in the Cape Winelands.

Why an Eco academy, not a ranger school

One ecosystem. One staffing engine.

South Africa already has the safari, wine and luxury-hospitality reputation. The structural shortage is at the front line — trained guides, sommeliers, hosts and conservation operatorsthe brands can actually recruit. NXT Eco builds that pipeline at the centre of the Winelands, accredited by every body that matters, and feeds it straight into the country's top wine estates, hotels and reserves.

Rangers and field guides are one track. Sommeliers, cellar craft and wine-estate hospitality is another. So is hotel + restaurant + bar service. So is conservation and land management. One academy. One umbrella. Four tracks.

The four tracks

Guiding. Wine. Hospitality. Conservation.

Every learner picks a track. Every track has an anchor operator on or next to the campus.

Foundation Eco Partner

LaMotte. Walking distance from the campus.

A working wine farm, a restaurant, an art collection, a conservation footprint, Rupert family stewardship — on Franschhoek's main R45. LaMotte is the live practical site for the Wine & Vine, Hospitality and Conservation tracks of NXT Eco. Vine to glass. Cellar to plate. Land to learner.

  • Vine-to-glass module on a working estate
  • Cellar craft + tasting under SASA / WSET
  • Front-line restaurant + bar service rotations
